Kappa Deltas raise money to support national and local philanthropies through the National Kappa Delta Foundation. We take pride in our efforts to build and strengthen community service initiatives that reach out and touch the lives of our members and also of women and children around the world. The Foundation’s Shamrock events raise funds each year for Prevent Child Abuse America (20%) and local community philanthropies (80%).
The Kappa Delta Foundation also supports:
- The KD Children in Need fund – In 1925 we introduced a KD Christmas Seal as a fundraiser to benefit a national children’s hospital. Today the funds donated by members for the seals still support the hospital, now called the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU.
- Girl Scouts of the USA – the Foundation contributes $10,000 per year in scholarships to the Girl Scout Gold Award Young Women of Distinction.
- Orthopedic Research Awards – the Foundation endows three prestigious research awards totaling $60,000 annually.

Locally, the Houston Kappa Delta Alumnae Chapter supports Girl Scouts and ChildBuilders through volunteer activities, fundraising events and generous donations.
